"The Vice, But Not In Miami" Complimentary Wine Tasting

  • Craft'd 108 West Union Street Morganton, NC, 28655 United States (map)

“Celebrating your personal Vice isn’t about over-indulgence, but an appreciation for tradition and new practices alike…” The Vice was founded with the belief that the best wine is not the one with the highest price tag — it’s the wine that’s the most meticulously crafted.

We will sample:

“The House” Sauvignon Blanc 2023 — The winter season was the 10th wettest winter on record in Napa, with consistent rain that eliminated the extreme drought and with surprisingly no floods. Spring was poetic leading to a mild summer with no heatwaves whatsoever. Harvest was a month behind compared to the past few years. The slow ripening helped the grapes reach maximum potential. This Sav Blanc was crafted along the lines of fine White Bordeaux. Inviting aromas of honeydew melon, kiwi and quince. Medium body with impressive depth on the palate. Persistent flavors of Meyer lemon and ginger with notes of pear, verbena and Italian basil. A nice harmony of flavors from start to finish and perfectly balanced. Only 2,800 cases produced. 13.8% ABV. $27/9

“Miami Vice” Rose of Pinot Noir 2023 — Crafted in a Sancerre Rosé style, exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes from a single vineyard in Carneros. The vineyard is bowl shaped, allowing the vines to remain cool during the summer heat and warm during the colder months. These were the first grapes to be picked in 2023, marking the start of harvest. Handpicked slightly underripe to exude freshness and preserve the acidity for years to come. The color of a California sunset, this wine offers a bouquet of red berries and spring flowers. On the palate, this Pinot rushes with mouth-watering and savory flavors marked by minerality, summer strawberries, and orange blossom. Only 2,400 cases produced. 12% ABV. $28.99/9.50

“The Bambino” Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2020 — Located in the Green Valley of the Russian River Valley, where fog is the trademark. The vineyard’s soil is Goldridge, the most sought-after type in North Coast for Pinot Noir. The vines were planted in 1997 over 10 pristine acres. Bright cherry, cranberry and wild strawberry aromas leap out of the glass. The palate is rich and fleshy, with a supple mix of raspberry jam, rose petal, earth (red clay) and Rooibos Tea. Soft tannins with creamy nuances drive the finish with shades of baker’s chocolate, cinnamon and clove. Drink now through 2028. Only 420 cases produced. 14.2% ABV. $34.99/11.50.

See you Friday!
